The ‘Lab on Wings’ Comprehensive Hands-on Workshop on Molecular, Developmental and Behavioural biology of Drosophila, was organized by Dept. of Biomedical Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) from 22nd January – 24th January 2025.Participants were provided with hands on training on lifecycle, sexing, and identification of various mutants, preparation cornmeal agar and instant food for culturing, transferring adult Drosophila to new cultures, DNA extraction and fragmentation assay from Drosophila melanogaster, behavioral assays, Drosophila gut and brain dissection and gut enzyme assays.
