The Department of Biomedical Sciences has initiated the Workshop series with Comprehensive Workshop on Animal Cell Culture Techniques as it first launch on 6th November 2024. This initiative is in line with the skill based education under National Skill Qualification Framework of UGC and Skill Development and Employability of NEP 2020. This initiative will not only support students towards employability but also motivate them to take entrepreneurship challenges and expand research inventiveness.The Workshop focused on fundamentals of animal cell culture, cell culture equipment, preparation of cell culture medium, sub- culturing of secondary cancer cell line, cytotoxicity test, cryopreservation and thawing of secondary cell line from the liquid nitrogen canister, followed by live cell imaging using inverted fluorescence microscope and molecular techniques in cell culture.
